Volunteer With Us

Volunteering with Myra’s Kids Foundation

At Myra’s Kids Foundation, volunteers are the heart of our mission to bring hope and healing to grieving children and teens. Every act of support from our dedicated volunteers helps children in our community honour their loved ones, learn to navigate their grief, and discover they are not alone in their journey.

Our overnight camp, a cornerstone of Myra’s Kids Foundation, relies on the generosity and commitment of 30-40 volunteers each year. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing space where children can connect, share, and grow alongside peers who understand their experience.

How to Become a Volunteer

If you’re interested in joining our team, please complete the Volunteer Application. A member of our team will be in touch to arrange a mandatory interview, conducted in March and April. To be considered for camp, applications must be fully completed and submitted by the stated deadline. All volunteers must be over 21 years old.

Volunteer Training

All volunteers are required to participate in two training sessions, amounting to approximately eight hours. These sessions are designed to equip volunteers with the tools, insights, and confidence needed to support our campers effectively. Training topics include understanding grief in children, fostering a supportive environment, and promoting resilience and healing through camp activities.

By volunteering with Myra’s Kids Foundation, you’ll be making a meaningful impact on the lives of grieving children and teens, helping them find connection, comfort, and hope after loss.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Myra’s Kids family. Together, we can provide children with the safe space they need to heal and thrive.
