Live Talk: Grief 101 for Adults Supporting Grieving Children & Young People

What is grief? Is my child grieving ‘normally’? What do I say to a young person who is grieving?

Grief is complex, it’s complicated and it’s messy. Whilst everyone grieves differently there are some common threads and themes that can be helpful to know when it comes to supporting a young person following a bereavement.

Run by youth bereavement charity Winston's Wish, our ‘Growing with Grief’ virtual live talk is an online information session for parents and carers on where to start with supporting a child or young person through grief. Led by a Winston’s Wish bereavement support worker, we’ll cover:

  • How a child or young person's age may impact their understanding of death and grief

  • How grief can affect a child or young person

  • Ideas and advice to support children and young people with emotions and responses

It’s also your chance to submit your questions to our bereavement support team.

The sessions are anonymous (so no need to switch on your webcam) and it’s up to you whether you participate or simply observe and listen.
